  • The 30-year U.S. Treasury yield closed above 5.3% in August, its highest since 2007, while Japan's 30-year yield reached 4.2% and UK gilts neared 6%.
  • Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's buyback program launched Sept. 9, but ING analysts said there is "no material countervailing force" to ease the pressure.
