bloomberg+1qz+1qzNscale Limited, a British AI infrastructure company founded just two years ago, filed for an initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange last week, revealing a striking concentration risk: Microsoft and Anthropic together account for 85% of its $103 billion in total contract value.qz+1
Microsoft has signed multiple agreements with Nscale since late 2025 worth approximately $43.8 billion through 2033, according to Bloomberg. Separately, Nscale struck a $44.6 billion deal with Anthropic in August to supply computing power at a planned eight-gigawatt facility in West Virginia, where Nvidia Vera Rubin chips will support Anthropic's workloads. The West Virginia campus is expected to bring its initial two gigawatts of capacity online in 2028.bloomberg+2
But the headline figures come with caveats. Only $2.6 billion of the $103 billion in total contract value was active as of the end of August. Nscale has not yet secured financing for the Anthropic deal, and the contract includes milestones and performance requirements that give Anthropic grounds to walk away if they are not met. The company itself flagged the risk in its S-1 filing: "A substantial portion of our revenue is driven by a limited number of our customers".qz+1
For the first half of 2026, Nscale posted a $1.02 billion net loss on $140.6 million in revenue — though that revenue represented a 1,252% jump from $10.4 million in the year-ago period. The company reported $56.4 billion in remaining performance obligations.qz
Nvidia's involvement extends well beyond supplying chips. The chipmaker has participated in Nscale's funding rounds, guaranteed roughly $860 million in lease obligations, and took part in a $3.1 billion financing package announced last week that included $1 billion in convertible notes or non-voting shares. Despite this, Nscale cautioned that the partnership does "not eliminate supply chain risks" for chip delivery. Goldman Sachs The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. , J.P. Morgan JPMorgan Chase & Co. , and Morgan Stanley are serving as lead underwriters, with shares set to list under the ticker "NSCL".techstrong+1
