Pertes de Jane Street : la Fed et la BoE interrogent les banques

  • La Réserve fédérale et la Banque d'Angleterre ont commencé à interroger les banques sur leurs liens avec les grandes sociétés de trading après que Jane Street a subi une perte de 15 milliards de dollars en juillet, selon le Financial Times.
  • Ces pertes découlent de la quasi-faillite de Situational Awareness, un fonds spéculatif axé sur l'IA et dirigé par l'ancien chercheur d'OpenAI Leopold Aschenbrenner, qui a été contraint de liquider ses positions auprès de Citadel Securities.
  • De son côté, la SEC a assigné en justice Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Citigroup et Bank of America en août concernant le recours à l'effet de levier par le fonds.
