The transaction brings Fin's customer agent platform, its proprietary AI models, and a customer base of more than 30,000 companies into Salesforce's portfolio. Fin's AI agent resolves customer queries across live chat, email, WhatsApp, SMS, voice, and Slack, achieving what the company calls an industry-leading average resolution rate of 76%.investing+1
"The #1 customer agent meets the #1 CRM," said Marc Benioff, Salesforce's chair and CEO. "Fin brings proven agent technology and an extraordinary AI team to Salesforce, making Agentforce even more powerful for customer service".stocktitan
Founded in Dublin in 2011 as Intercom, the company rebranded to Fin in May 2026, taking the name of its flagship AI agent product. The platform is powered by the Fin model suite — proprietary AI models built specifically for customer experience rather than general-purpose reasoning. Its customer roster includes companies such as Anthropic, Pfizer, and Miro.salesforcedictionary+2
Eoghan McCabe, Fin's CEO and co-founder, said the deal opens the door to far wider distribution. "The big strategic benefit of our decision to join Salesforce is magnitudes more businesses and their customers that we can bring it to," McCabe said.stocktitan
The acquisition slots Fin alongside Salesforce's Agentforce platform, which reached $1.2 billion in annual recurring revenue in the quarter ended April 2026, up 205% year over year. Salesforce has framed the two products as complementary: Fin offers rapid, out-of-the-box deployment on existing help desk systems, while Agentforce handles deeply customized, enterprise-scale implementations.acquiry+2
Fin will continue to operate as part of Salesforce's AI Labs, serving its existing customers while advancing its AI agent capabilities. When the deal was first announced in June, CNBC reported it was Salesforce's latest move to counter concerns that new AI tools could render parts of its traditional CRM business obsolete. Financial terms were disclosed at announcement — approximately $3.6 billion, subject to customary adjustments — though Salesforce's completion announcement on Thursday did not reiterate the price.stocktitan+3
