ESA veitir sprotafyrirtæki metsamning upp á 760 milljónir evra fyrir geimflutninga

  • ESA hefur veitt Parísar-sprotafyrirtækinu The Exploration Company 760 milljóna evra samning til að sýna fram á sjálfvirkan flutning á farmi til og frá alþjóðlegu geimstöðinni (ISS) með Nyx-hylki sínu.
  • Fyrirtækið, sem er fimm ára gamalt, lauk 450 milljóna dollara C-fjármögnunarlotu fyrir örfáum dögum og hefur samtals safnað um 680 milljónum dollara frá stofnun árið 2021.
  • Nyx-tilraunaverkefnið verður skotið á loft með Ariane 6 eldflaug og er gert ráð fyrir að það tengist ISS fyrir miðjan ársins 2029, fyrir fyrirhugaða starfslok geimstöðvarinnar.
