  • Τα ακραία καιρικά φαινόμενα κόστισαν στην ΕΕ περίπου 822 δισεκατομμύρια ευρώ από το 1980 έως το 2024, με το ένα τέταρτο αυτών των ζημιών να σημειώνεται μόλις τα τελευταία τέσσερα χρόνια, σύμφωνα με το Reuters.
  • Ο οίκος Fitch προειδοποιεί ότι οι κλιματικές καταστροφές μετατρέπονται από έκτακτα έξοδα σε επαναλαμβανόμενες δημοσιονομικές υποχρεώσεις, με ορισμένες χώρες να αντιμετωπίζουν κόστος έως και 2% του ΑΕΠ.
  • Η ΕΚΤ έχει προτείνει ένα κοινό σχήμα δημόσιας και ιδιωτικής αντασφάλισης, ενώ η Πορτογαλία και η Ελλάδα προωθούν την υποχρεωτική ασφάλιση και την αναβάθμιση των υποδομών.
