Singapore launches data center powered by living human neurons

17 sources
  • NUS Medicine, DayOne Data Centers, and Cortical Labs launched what they call the world's first biologically integrated server rack at a Singapore lab.
  • Each CL1 unit uses living neurons grown from stem cells to process data on roughly 30 watts, a fraction of conventional chip power draw.
  • The partners are exploring scaling to 1,000 units in a DayOne facility, with potential uses in drug discovery, robotics, and cybersecurity.
