The genetic variants identified reached well beyond temperament. Variants linked to conscientiousness were associated with lower substance use, greater physical activity, reduced hospital visits, and healthier aging. Variants tied to neuroticism predicted more time spent in the hospital and were associated with anxiety and depression-related conditions.
