Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella confirmed on Wednesday that the company will launch a unified Copilot "super app" combining chat, coding, coworking tools, and autonomous agents into a single product for both consumers and enterprise customers.
"Copilot is evolving rapidly from chat to Cowork to Autopilots," Nadella said during the company's fiscal fourth-quarter earnings call. "This quarter, we are bringing these Copilot experiences together, including Code, in one super app spanning both consumer and commercial experiences. A Growing AI Business
The announcement arrived alongside strong quarterly results, with Microsoft reporting $90 billion in revenue for the quarter ended June 30, driven by record growth in its cloud and AI businesses. Copilot now has more than 30 million paid Microsoft 365 seats, with net seat additions more than doubling quarter-over-quarter, according to Nadella. Super App Race
The super app concept was first reported by Fortune in May, which described an internal effort under the slogan "Delivering one Copilot" that would unite consumer and commercial sides of the product, allowing users to toggle between personal and enterprise modes. Strategic Positioning
On the earnings call, Nadella also articulated a broader strategic argument: that enterprises should keep their AI "harness" — the agentic orchestration layer — separate from any single model provider to avoid vendor lock-in.
