bloombergbloomberg+1investingA Morgan Stanley employee accidentally sent an internal document detailing more than 100 investment-banking deals the firm is working on across Asia, exposing sensitive pipeline information in what Bloomberg News described as an email misfire.bloomberg
The leaked list contained candidates for initial public offerings spanning China, South Korea, and India, according to a copy seen by Bloomberg News and verified by people familiar with the matter. It also included details about private equity and pension funds backing those companies, as well as projects that had been put on hold. The document primarily covered Asia, with some deals in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.investing+1
The document was sent via email this week by a bank employee who later attempted to retract the message, according to people familiar with the matter. A blurred copy of the list also surfaced on an Instagram Meta Platforms, Inc. account, widening the exposure of the confidential information.investing
Morgan Stanley told Bloomberg News that it takes client confidentiality "extremely seriously" and that it "promptly took steps to address the inadvertent sharing of information" while continuing to engage with relevant parties. The incident comes during a period of strong momentum for the firm's Asia business; Morgan Stanley closed in on a record $10 billion in revenue from the region last year, and the bank boosted Asia bonuses by roughly 20% in early 2026. The leak risks undermining client trust at a time when the firm has been aggressively expanding its presence across the region's capital markets.bloomberg+2
