  • King Frederik X officially opened the Greensand project on Friday, marking the EU's first commercial-scale CO₂ storage operation at Esbjerg, Denmark.
  • CO₂ from Danish biomethane plants is liquefied, shipped aboard the EU's first purpose-built CO₂ carrier, and injected 1,800 metres beneath the seabed in a depleted oil field.
  • INEOS Chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe called it "a fully operational carbon transport and storage business," with plans to scale to 4–8 million tonnes annually.
