The signing ceremony took place at the company's first-ever IFA exhibition, where Xiaomi occupied more than 3,300 square meters to showcase over 380 products as part of its "Human × Car × Home" ecosystem. On display were the new-generation SU7 sedan, the high-performance SU7 Ultra, and the Vision Gran Turismo hypercar concept developed for the racing game franchise.t3+1
Xiaomi Auto has delivered more than 700,000 vehicles in mainland China since its first deliveries began in March 2024. Germany is the intended first market, with France and Italy expected to follow, according to company president William Lu, who said in May that the overseas push would formally begin in the third or fourth quarter of 2027. Right-hand-drive markets including the UK are penciled in for 2028.fonearena+1
Trusted Reviews described Xiaomi's European automotive push as potentially "the real Apple Car moment," noting the parallels between Xiaomi's ecosystem approach — connecting phones, home appliances, and vehicles through its HyperOS platform — and the kind of integrated hardware-software experience that Apple had long been rumored to pursue before abandoning its own car project. The SU7 Ultra holds the official Nürburgring Nordschleife record in the Electric Executive Car category, set in April 2025.trustedreviews+1
Beyond vehicles, Xiaomi confirmed that its Mijia smart home brand will "expand at scale across Europe," bringing connected appliances ranging from air fryers and washing machines to robot vacuums and air conditioning units. Xu Fei, Xiaomi's chief marketing officer, said at the event that the three pillars of the ecosystem — personal devices, smart vehicles, and smart home — "will begin to come together in the region". Xiaomi expects its global R&D investment to exceed €24 billion between 2026 and 2030, covering AI, semiconductors, smart vehicles, and robotics.t3+1
