focustaiwan+1asktraders+1bloomberg+1Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. on Thursday reported its highest-ever monthly revenue, crossing the NT$500 billion threshold for the first time as demand for artificial intelligence chips continued to outpace the foundry giant's ability to expand capacity.
Consolidated revenue for August reached NT$514.8 billion (approximately $16.3 billion), up 53.3% from a year earlier and 10.1% from July, according to a company statement. It marked the fourth consecutive month TSMC has set a revenue record.focustaiwan+2
Cumulative revenue for the first eight months of 2026 totaled NT$3.39 trillion, a 39.3% increase over the same period last year.cnbc+1
Combined revenue for July and August reached NT$982.4 billion, putting TSMC well on pace to meet or exceed its third-quarter guidance of $44.6 billion to $45.8 billion. September would need to deliver only about NT$437.6 billion — well below recent monthly figures — to hit the lower end of that range.finance.biggo+1
Bloomberg reported that analysts on average expect 46.8% sales growth for the current quarter. TSMC has beaten consensus revenue estimates in each of the last four quarters, according to AskTraders.bloomberg+1
The record came as TSMC's most advanced production lines remained fully booked. Research firm TrendForce said TSMC held a 72.5% share of the global foundry market in the second quarter, with its 5nm, 4nm, and 3nm capacity running at full utilization due to demand for AI server processors. TrendForce also noted that TSMC's 2nm node contributed revenue for the first time, coinciding with Apple's rollout of iPhones powered by A20 Pro chips built on that process.trendforce+1
Cliff Hou, TSMC's deputy co-chief operating officer, captured the supply strain: "Right now you're almost 4x or 5x, trying to catch up, but still you cannot meet demand". The company has raised its 2026 capital expenditure forecast to a record $60 billion to $64 billion.benzinga+1
The August figures arrived alongside broad gains across Taiwan's AI server supply chain. Foxconn Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd. posted roughly 52% year-over-year revenue growth, while Quanta jumped 177.5% and Wistron rose 166.5%. Taiwan's overall exports hit a record $82.4 billion in August, with electronic component exports topping $30 billion for the first time.moomoo+1
