Neolitik çiftçiler çöplerini evde tutuyordu, araştırmacılar şaşkın

  • York Üniversitesi ve Freie Universität Berlin liderliğindeki yeni bir arkeolojik proje, Neolitik çiftçilerin yaklaşık 8.000 yıl önce atıkları nasıl yönettiklerini ortaya çıkarmayı amaçlıyor ve çöplerini evlerinden uzağa atmak yerine neden yerleşim yerlerindeki çukurlarda tuttuklarını inceliyor.
  • Araştırmacılar, erken dönem çiftçilerin atıkları konusunda kendilerini sorumlu hissetmiş olabileceklerini ve atılan eşyaların yeniden kullanılabileceğini anladıklarını öne sürüyor; kanıtlar, yeniden kullanılan çanak çömleklerin geri dönüşümün en eski biçimlerinden biri olduğunu ve eşyalara duyulan duygusal bağların defin ritüelleriyle kanıtlandığını gösteriyor.
  • Ekip, Balkanlar'dan Baltık kıyılarına kadar dört arkeolojik alanı, atılan nesnelerin "hayat hikayelerini" yeniden oluşturmak için bilimsel teknikler kullanarak inceleyecek ve bulgular modern atık yönetimi için yeni yaklaşımlara ilham verebilir.
