Samsung Global Newsroom+1Tom's Guide+1Tech Advisor+1Samsung Electronics is unveiling its next-generation foldable lineup at Galaxy Unpacked today, July 22, with preorders opening across carriers including Verizon as the company debuts three new foldable phones and updated wearables from its London event.
The Galaxy Unpacked event, livestreaming at 9 a.m. ET from London, marks the official announcement of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8, alongside the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. The headline device is the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which succeeds last year's Z Fold 7 with a 5,000mAh battery (up from 4,400mAh), 45W wired charging, an upgraded 50MP ultrawide camera, and a higher-resolution 8-inch internal QHD+ AMOLED display. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Pricing starts at $2,099 for the 256GB model, according to leaks from WinFuture cited by Tom's Guide.Tech Advisor+4
Samsung is also introducing a wider-format foldable simply called the Galaxy Z Fold 8, priced from $1,899, which features a 4:3 aspect ratio display aimed at competing more directly with traditional smartphones.youtube+1
Verizon historically offers aggressive trade-in incentives on Samsung foldable launches. Last year, the carrier provided up to $1,100 off the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with any-condition trade-ins and bundled a free Galaxy Watch 8 with purchase. Similar or enhanced promotions are expected for the Z Fold 8 lineup, with Samsung itself advertising up to $1,230 in total savings through its reservation program.Droid Life+2
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 arrives with an 800mAh battery — a 35% increase over its predecessor — a 5,000-nit display, and the new Snapdragon Wear Elite chip. The Galaxy Watch 9 comes in 40mm and 44mm sizes with upgraded batteries and the same new processor.Gagadget.com+1
This marks the first time Samsung has offered three book-style foldable form factors simultaneously, splitting its lineup into the wider Z Fold 8 and the premium Z Fold 8 Ultra. The event in London also represents a geographic shift from Samsung's typical launch venues, as the company faces growing competition in the foldable space heading into 2026.Android Central+3
