"Maureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right – and I'm thrilled that we've managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure," Mendes said in a statement.consequence+1

Powerhouse Actresses Take on Iconic Roles

The casting pairs each actress with a Beatles member's significant other. Four-time Oscar nominee Ronan will portray photographer Linda McCartney, who married Paul McCartney in 1969 and later became a member of his post-Beatles band Wings. Emmy winner Sawai, fresh from her acclaimed performance in "Shōgun," takes on the role of conceptual artist Yoko Ono, John Lennon's creative partner and wife.brit+3

Wood, recently seen stealing scenes in "The White Lotus" and "Sex Education," will depict model Pattie Boyd, who married George Harrison in 1966 after meeting him on the set of "A Hard Day's Night". McKenna-Bruce, who won the BAFTA Rising Star Award for "How to Have Sex," rounds out the quartet as Maureen Starkey, Ringo Starr's first wife whom he married in 1965.showbiz411+3

Groundbreaking Cinematic Experiment

The project represents the first time Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles have granted comprehensive life story and music rights for scripted films. Each of the four movies will unfold from a different band member's perspective, with Mendes directing all installments to create what Sony Pictures CEO Tom Rothman calls "the first bingeable theatrical experience".nealstreetproductions+3

The ambitious release strategy will see all four films hit theaters simultaneously in April 2028, though the exact viewing order remains unclear. "You have to match the boldness of the idea with a bold release strategy," Rothman told The Hollywood Reporter in 2024. "There hasn't been an enterprise like this before, and you can't think about it in traditional releasing terms."americansongwriter+2

Additional casting announcements for key figures including Cynthia Lennon, Brian Epstein, George Martin, and Ravi Shankar are expected in the coming months.yahoo+1
