finance.yahoo+1blockonomicryptobriefingNvidia CEO Jensen Huang pushed back against reports that the company's next-generation Vera Rubin AI accelerator platform faces production delays, declaring that "giant amounts of production" are incoming and the system remains on track.
"The reports are not true. Vera Rubin is already in production. Giant amounts of production incoming," Huang told reporters during a visit to Tokyo on Tuesday, according to Yahoo Finance.finance.yahoo
The denial followed a research note published Monday by KeyBanc analyst John Vinh, who identified a thermal lid manufacturing challenge affecting Rubin GPU production. "We're seeing a slight delay in the ramp of Rubin due to the thermal lid issues, which have been resolved, but are seeing indications that Rubin will start ramping in July," Vinh wrote. He also cited earlier delays related to SK Hynix qualification of HBM4 memory.marklapedus.substack+1
Nvidia shares fell roughly 3.4% following the KeyBanc note before Huang's comments. Despite flagging the delay, Vinh raised his price target on Nvidia and maintained production volume expectations of 1.7 million to 1.8 million Rubin units for the year.blockonomi+1
Nvidia has repeatedly affirmed Vera Rubin's production status. At GTC Taipei in late May, the company announced the platform was "ramping into full production," with shipments set for fall 2026. Contract manufacturing partners including Foxconn, Quanta, and Wistron were expected to begin full-scale system production in the second half of the year.tradingkey+2
The Vera Rubin platform pairs Nvidia's custom Vera CPU with the Rubin GPU, promising up to ten times lower inference costs compared to the current Blackwell architecture. It represents the centerpiece of Nvidia's projected $1 trillion in cumulative AI infrastructure orders through 2027.cryptobriefing
The Vera Rubin delay concerns are not the first production worries to surface. A separate report from SemiAnalysis in early July indicated that the higher-end Kyber NVL144 rack system had been pushed to 2028 due to circuit board manufacturing difficulties. Huang's forceful denial in Tokyo appears aimed at separating limited component-level hiccups from broader doubts about the platform's delivery schedule.cnbc
