prnewswire+1nscaleprnewswireNscale, the London-based AI cloud provider backed by Nvidia , has agreed to acquire software startup Anyscale for approximately $1.65 billion, the companies announced on Thursday. The deal marks Nscale's latest move to build a vertically integrated AI platform ahead of a planned initial public offering later this year.
The acquisition brings Anyscale's workload-orchestration software — built on Ray, the open-source framework for scaling distributed AI applications — under the same roof as Nscale's GPU infrastructure, data centers, and power generation assets. Anyscale's platform helps machine-learning teams spread jobs across thousands of accelerators for data processing, training, fine-tuning, and inference.prnewswire+1
"An engineer can now come to Nscale as a one-stop shop for all of their training, fine-tuning and inference services," said Dan Bathurst, Nscale's chief product officer. Anyscale will continue to operate under its own brand, and its customers will remain free to run on whatever infrastructure they choose.nscale+1
The deal price was disclosed by a person familiar with the transaction, as the companies did not publicly reveal financial terms. Anyscale reported 70% quarter-over-quarter revenue growth in its most recent period. All of its roughly 200 employees across the United States, Europe, and India will join Nscale.theedgemalaysia+2
Nscale, which was formed from a cryptocurrency mining business in early 2024, has grown rapidly into one of the most prominent "neocloud" providers. The company is valued at approximately $14.6 billion after securing over $2 billion in funding and has said it plans to go public potentially in the second half of 2026.theedgemalaysia+2
The acquisition reflects broader consolidation among neocloud providers seeking to differentiate beyond raw GPU rental. In May, rival Nebius Group agreed to pay $643 million for Eigen AI, another startup focused on AI model delivery. "If you look at the other neoclouds, everyone's wanting to move up the stack," Bathurst said.theedgemalaysia
Nscale's platform ambitions sit atop a large physical buildout. The company acquired the Monarch Compute Campus in West Virginia earlier this year, a site scalable to over 8 gigawatts of power, where Microsoft has signed a letter of intent for 1.35 gigawatts of AI compute capacity. Nscale also closed a $900 million revolving credit facility in early July.unite+2
Goldman Sachs The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. International served as lead financial advisor to Nscale, with Morgan Stanley as co-advisor. Qatalyst Partners acted as exclusive financial advisor to Anyscale. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.prnewswire
