Meta AI rolls out task automation and daily briefings

Meta Platforms ↗ 2.05% is rolling out new task automation capabilities for its Meta AI assistant, allowing the chatbot to handle recurring tasks without repeated user instructions, the company announced on Thursday.

The update lets Meta AI deliver daily briefings that summarize calendar events, generate weekly meal plans, and provide trend updates autonomously once a user sets preferences, according to Reuters. The features are launching in select markets through the Meta AI app and meta.ai website.wkzo+1

The new capabilities run on Muse Spark 1.1, the multimodal reasoning model that Meta Superintelligence Labs released on July 9. Meta framed the update as a step toward its broader vision of "personal superintelligence," a concept CEO Mark Zuckerberg has described as AI that "knows you, your goals, your interests, and helps you with whatever you're focused on doing". The service remains free to users, who retain control through customizable settings.
