Lithuanian embassy in Kyiv damaged in Russian missile attack

Lithuania's embassy in Kyiv was damaged early Saturday when two Russian missiles struck within metres of the diplomatic compound during a massive overnight bombardment that killed at least nine people across the Ukrainian capital.

One missile landed 10 metres from the embassy, the other 150 metres away, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys said in a video statement. Embassy windows shattered, solar collectors were destroyed, and debris scattered across the yard, though no staff were injured.reuters

"Today we will summon the Russian embassy representative to protest," Budrys said. He added that the attack demonstrated Russia has no genuine intention to end its campaign of terror against Ukraine. Wider Devastation Across Kyiv

The attack extended well beyond the embassy. Strikes hit the Kyivmedspetstrans municipal medical transport facility twice, burning five ambulances and damaging another 20 vehicles that service healthcare facilities across the city. Four buildings at the depot were partially destroyed.kyivpost

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia launched 35 missiles overnight, including 27 ballistic missiles, along with 185 attack drones.
