  • Wyss Instituten tutkijat käyttivät syväoppimista seulomaan kemiallisia kirjastoja uusien antibioottiehdokkaiden löytämiseksi lääkeresistenttiä tippuria vastaan, kertoo keskiviikkona Science Translational Medicine -lehdessä julkaistu tutkimus.
  • Tutkimuksessa validoitiin johtavat yhdisteet käyttämällä mikrofluidistista elin-siruteknologiaa, joka jäljittelee ihmisen emätinkudosta, mikä ylittää perinteiset soluviljelmät ja hiirimallit.
  • Työ perustuu tekoälypohjaisten antibioottilöytöjen aaltoon FDA:n vuoden 2025 lopulla antaman gepotidasiinin ja zoliflodasiinin hyväksynnän jälkeen, jotka olivat ensimmäiset uudet tippurilääkkeet vuosikymmeniin.
