Chalamet defends bold Marty Supreme campaign

Timothée Chalamet addressed mounting criticism over his unconventional press tour for "Marty Supreme," defending his confident promotional approach as integral to the film's spirit while the A24 drama posted historic box office numbers in its limited opening.

"This is in the spirit of Marty, and I feel like this is ultimately an original film at a time when original movies aren't really put out," Chalamet told IndieWire in an interview published December 19. "It's a movie about the pursuit of a dream. I'm leaving it on the field. Whether it's the merch or the Zoom or the media appearances, I'm trying to get this out in the biggest way possible."news.yahoo+1

An industry source told Page Six that Chalamet's approach has been "Kardashian-ized," adding that "he has pretty lofty goals".theatlantic+4

According to The Atlantic, Chalamet has transformed into "an independent marketing powerhouse," dismissing traditional Oscar campaign playbooks.
