BTS plans 65-show world tour for 2026 comeback

Global K-pop sensation BTS is reportedly preparing for their most ambitious world tour ever, with approximately 65 shows planned for 2026 following the release of their first album in six years, according to a Bloomberg report published Sunday. The tour would mark the supergroup's return to the stage after all seven members completed South Korea's mandatory military service in June.the-independent+2

Record-Breaking Scale and Financial Impact

More than 30 of the reported 65 concerts are expected to take place in North America, surpassing the scale of any previous BTS tour. The news immediately impacted financial markets, with HYBE stock surging over 9% following the Bloomberg report on Sunday.the-independent+4

Industry analysts estimate the comeback could generate over $1 billion in revenue for HYBE through ticket sales, merchandise, album sales, and streaming within a 12-month period. Ticket sales alone could reach $664 million, with analysts projecting 3.9 million tickets sold across all shows.news18

The upcoming album, scheduled for release at the end of March 2026, will be BTS's first full-group release since their 2022 anthology "Proof" and follows their most recent studio album "BE" from 2020. All seven members—RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—completed their military service by June 21, 2025, when Suga was the final member discharged.news.yahoo+3

Industry Speculation and Official Response

While Mumbai has been mentioned in some speculation about potential tour destinations, fueling excitement among Indian fans, HYBE's Big Hit Music has remained cautious about confirming specifics. "Details regarding the dates and scale of BTS's new world tour remain unconfirmed," a spokesperson told The Independent. "The dates you mentioned are not the latest number we are discussing".timesofindia.indiatimes+4

This would be BTS's first proper world tour since 2019, as their planned 2020 "Map of the Soul" tour was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Their last full-group performances took place in Las Vegas in April 2022, generating $18 million from 12 shows across four cities. Between 2015 and 2022, BTS earned nearly $300 million from touring, though this figure likely underrepresents their total revenue as not all performances were officially reported.koreatimes+2
