koreatimes+1globalcitizenfifa+1South Korean supergroup BTS released the official music video and a Korean-language version of their track "Normal" exclusively on Spotify on Friday, July 17, timed to build momentum ahead of the group's co-headlining performance at the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show on Sunday.
"Normal," originally featured on BTS's fifth studio album ARIRANG released in March, debuted its music video on Spotify at 1 p.m. KST (midnight ET) alongside three new versions of the track, including the Korean-language and instrumental renditions, according to the group's label BigHit Music. The content will arrive on all major streaming platforms on July 19. Physical CD singles were made available in two versions: "Original & Korean Ver." and "Original & Instrumental".music-news+3
The release was preceded by an unusual promotional campaign that included tabloid-style newspaper advertisements and a "Late Night Gathering" event, drawing attention through old-school marketing tactics.billboard
The timing is strategic. On Sunday, July 19, BTS will co-headline the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show at New York New Jersey Stadium alongside Madonna, Shakira, Burna Boy, and Justin Bieber. The show, curated by Coldplay's Chris Martin and produced by Global Citizen, will raise funds for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund to improve access to education and football for children worldwide. The final is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m. ET.globalcitizen+2
"Normal" first appeared as a track on ARIRANG in March 2026, but has since been elevated to standalone single status with its own video and multilingual versions. The Spotify-exclusive window represents a notable distribution strategy, giving the platform a 48-hour head start before the track's wider release coincides with the World Cup final — and BTS's performance before a global television audience numbering in the billions.music.apple
