afppeinsights.substack+1electroiq+1Bending Spoons announced on Tuesday that it has agreed to acquire Airtable, the collaborative workflow platform, in an all-cash transaction valuing the company at an enterprise value of $1.285 billion. Combined with Airtable's net cash balance, the deal implies an equity value of approximately $2.25 billion. The acquisition marks the Italian technology company's first deal since its Nasdaq listing on July 1, 2026.marketscreener+2
The deal represents a steep decline from Airtable's peak valuation of $11.7 billion following its $735 million Series F round in December 2021. By early 2026, the company's valuation on secondary markets had already fallen to approximately $4 billion. The $2.25 billion equity value agreed upon Tuesday amounts to roughly 80 percent below its pandemic-era high.sacra+2
Still, Airtable has continued to grow. Bending Spoons CEO Luca Ferrari said in the announcement that Airtable's annual recurring revenue is "growing over 20% YoY to approximately $480 million as of June 2026." More than 500,000 organizations, including 80 percent of the Fortune 100, use the platform.afp
Bending Spoons, which went public at $29 per share in an offering that valued it at roughly $18.4 billion, has built its business model around acquiring and transforming digital products. Its portfolio already includes AOL, Vimeo, Eventbrite, Evernote, and WeTransfer. The company acquired AOL in January 2026 and Eventbrite in March 2026 before going public months later.peinsights.substack+2
Airtable co-founder and CEO Howie Liu said the partnership "gives us the resources and the long-term commitment Airtable needs to pursue that vision even more boldly as we build the AI-native platform of the future."afp
The transaction, unanimously approved by both boards, is expected to close later this year pending regulatory approvals. Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan are advising Bending Spoons, while Latham & Watkins and AXOM Partners are advising Airtable. Until closing, both companies will continue to operate independently.marketscreener+1
