newsroom.arm+1moomoomoomooArm Holdings unveiled a sweeping set of product updates across its mobile, cloud, and physical AI business lines at the Arm Everywhere China conference in Shanghai on September 8, marking its most aggressive push yet into the server market long dominated by Intel and AMD Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. .
The announcements span three product tiers. For mobile, Arm launched its second-generation Compute Subsystem for Mobile, CSS for Mobile 2, which integrates a new C2 CPU cluster, Mali G2-Ultra NX GPU with a dedicated neural network accelerator, and system-level software support. For cloud infrastructure, the company introduced Neoverse CSS N4, supporting up to 128 cores per die with LPDDR6 memory and PCIe Gen 7 compatibility, built on TSMC's N3P process. And for physical AI, Arm expanded its Total Design ecosystem to more than 80 partner companies working on autonomous systems.moomoo+3
The most consequential shift lies in Arm's cloud strategy. The company's AGI CPU, a 136-core, 3nm data center processor first announced in March, represents a departure from the licensing-only model that has defined Arm for decades. Where customers like Apple , Amazon Amazon.com, Inc. , and Google Alphabet Inc. previously designed their own chips using Arm intellectual property, the AGI CPU offers a production-ready alternative for enterprises that want Arm-based performance without in-house silicon design.moomoo
Arm Chief Marketing Officer Ami Badani told media at the event that customer demand drove the decision, with CSS adopters requesting products closer to finished chips. She framed the AGI CPU as expanding Arm's addressable market rather than competing with existing licensees, citing SAP's mix of cloud and on-premises deployments as an example of untapped opportunity.moomoo
Several Chinese firms disclosed plans to adopt Arm's new silicon. ByteDance's Volcano Engine will integrate the AGI CPU into its data centers for next-generation AI services, while Lenovo is building AI infrastructure around the processor. New Unigroup's collaboration with Arm spans both the AGI CPU and CSS platforms.moomoo
The expansion comes as Arm's share of the server CPU market grows at the expense of the x86 architecture. JPMorgan estimates Arm's server market share could rise from roughly 22% in 2025 to 43% by 2028, driven partly by agentic AI workloads that demand higher CPU-to-GPU ratios. Arm shares rose on September 9 following the announcements, with the broader semiconductor sector also trading higher.tradingkey+2
