Apple’s Sept. 9 event to feature foldable iPhone, AirPods 5

Apple ↘ 2.51% is set to hold its fall launch event on Wednesday, September 9, with a packed lineup that includes the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, the company's first foldable iPhone, new Apple Watch models, and AirPods 5. A new OLED iPad mini is expected to follow by the end of October.

September 9 Lineup

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman confirmed in his latest Power On newsletter that AirPods 5 will launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, a foldable iPhone, the Apple Watch Series 12, and the Apple Watch Ultra 4 at the September 9 event, which Apple has branded "Surprise and Shine."9to5mac+1

The foldable iPhone, often referred to as the iPhone Ultra, will be Apple's first entry into the foldable market. The device is expected to feature a 7.8-inch foldable internal display, a 5.3-inch external screen, the A20 Pro chip, 12GB of RAM, and two 48MP rear cameras. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will arrive without their standard-model counterparts, as Apple has staggered the release of non-Pro iPhones to early 2028. Gurman reported that the new iPad mini with an OLED screen "should go on sale by the end of October," suggesting it will not appear at the September event and will instead be announced separately.
