seekingalpha.com+1.engadget.com+1.cnbc.com.Amazon Amazon.com, Inc. on Thursday, October 15, introduced two new Bee listening devices: the $74.99 Bee Frontier wearable and the $99.99 Bee Eclipse, a card-sized recorder that snaps magnetically onto the back of a smartphone. They are the first Bee products since Amazon bought the San Francisco startup in July 2025, CNBC reported. The launch also brings a paid Bee Pro tier that connects the devices to Alexa+ and Amazon shopping, which pushes the company further into AI hardware that listens to everyday conversation.cnbc.com
The Frontier replaces the earlier Pioneer and costs more than its $50 predecessor. It can be worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing, and it has dual microphones with better noise filtering, IP67 water resistance and up to seven days of battery life, according to CNBC and TechCrunch. It is on sale now, and the Pioneer has been discontinued, Engadget reported.techcrunch.com+2
The Eclipse has three microphones and battery life of more than 21 days. It records both sides of phone calls as well as in-person conversations. The Verge described it as an option for more professional use. Amazon has said only that it will be "available soon."engadget.com+1
The free version of Bee includes conversation summaries, recaps and 14 days of memory. Bee Pro costs $11.99 a month and adds unlimited summaries, suggested to-dos, daily memories, a chat assistant and integrations with Amazon.com, Alexa+ and third-party apps. With Pro, users can ask Alexa for meeting summaries or shop based on items mentioned in conversation. Bee also works with Gmail Alphabet Inc. , Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook. New devices come with 30 days of Pro free.seekingalpha.com+2
Amazon says raw audio is processed in real time and then deleted. Transcripts are encrypted with keys controlled by the user's device, so Amazon employees cannot read them unless the user shares them. Both devices show an LED when they are recording. Unlike Echo speakers, which wait for a wake word, Bee devices record continuously while switched on.cnbc.com+1
Bee is priced below rivals such as the $159 Plaud Note and the $129 Pocket. It also competes with Meta's camera-equipped smart glasses, which have drawn privacy concerns from users, advocacy groups and lawmakers, and with Meta's Muse Charm pendant. The launch comes during a busy holiday hardware season that includes Apple's HomeView hub and new Alexa tablets.techcrunch.com+1
