Nvidia’s Huang calls cybersecurity AI’s next big market, dismisses safety fears

Nvidia ↗ 0.78% CEO Jensen Huang declared cybersecurity the next major application for artificial intelligence on Thursday, framing the technology as a business opportunity rather than an existential threat, even as debate over AI's dangers intensified across Silicon Valley.

Speaking at the Goldman Sachs ↗ 2.21% Communacopia + Technology Conference, Huang said AI systems capable of writing code should also be able to identify and patch software vulnerabilities — making cybersecurity a natural and lucrative extension of AI's coding capabilities. Dismissing AI Fears

Huang took aim at growing alarm over AI's risks, suggesting the cybersecurity industry itself has an incentive to stoke panic. "What better way to create demand than to create a problem?" he said. His remarks came days after Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon abruptly resigned and warned on X that AI could destroy humanity before the end of the decade. "The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all," Coxon wrote. "This is not a marketing stunt." Huang reiterated confidence that Nvidia can grow revenue 70% year over year, while projecting global AI infrastructure spending could reach $3 trillion to $4 trillion by 2030.
