  • Ο Thomas Kaplan, ο δισεκατομμυριούχος συλλέκτης πίσω από τη μεγαλύτερη ιδιωτική συλλογή έργων της Ολλανδικής Χρυσής Εποχής στον κόσμο, σχεδιάζει να κατατμήσει τη Leiden Collection και να την εισαγάγει στο χρηματιστήριο μέσω αρχικής δημόσιας προσφοράς (IPO) το πρώτο εξάμηνο του 2026.
  • Η συλλογή περιλαμβάνει 17 έργα του Ρέμπραντ και τον μοναδικό πίνακα του Βερμέερ που βρίσκεται σε ιδιωτικά χέρια ανάμεσα στα 220+ αριστουργήματά της, με τις μετοχές να είναι δυνητικά διαπραγματεύσιμες σε χρηματιστήρια όπως το Χρηματιστήριο της Νέας Υόρκης.
  • Με την ονομασία "Project Minerva", από τον πίνακα του Ρέμπραντ του 1635 που περιλαμβάνεται στη συλλογή, η πρωτοβουλία θα επιτρέψει σε εκατομμύρια απλούς επενδυτές να κατέχουν κλασματικά μερίδια στα μεγαλύτερα αριστουργήματα της ιστορίας της τέχνης.
  • Η ανακοίνωση συμπίπτει με τα εγκαίνια της μεγαλύτερης έκθεσης της συλλογής στις ΗΠΑ στις 25 Οκτωβρίου 2025, στο Norton Museum of Art στο West Palm Beach, όπου θα εκτεθούν 76 πίνακες έως τον Μάρτιο του 2026.
  • Ο Kaplan βλέπει την κατάτμηση τόσο ως λύση διαδοχής για τα παιδιά του που δεν ενδιαφέρονται, όσο και ως έναν τρόπο να «διαδώσει το έργο του Ρέμπραντ» εκδημοκρατίζοντας την πρόσβαση σε πίνακες των Παλαιών Δασκάλων.
