The 38 new charges stem from four additional alleged victims and cover offenses between 2010 and 2017 in the East of England region, north of London. They bring the total to 59 charges across both brothers, up from the 21 charges the CPS first authorized in May 2025 relating to three victims.reuters+3
The brothers were taken into custody on a sealed warrant, the U.S. Marshals Service confirmed to the Associated Press. The Department of Justice said the arrests "were made in accordance with the treaties and law enforcement agreements governing Justice Department extraditions".cnn+2

The arrest marks a turning point in a legal saga that has spanned multiple countries. The brothers were first arrested by Romanian police in 2022 and charged in Romania with rape, human trafficking, and money laundering. A Romanian court approved the UK's extradition request in 2024 but postponed it until the conclusion of proceedings there. In June, a UK High Court dismissed the brothers' legal challenge against the CPS over its refusal to disclose the identities of their alleged victims.aljazeera+2
The Tate brothers have consistently denied all allegations of misconduct. Their lawyers previously said the brothers would return to the UK voluntarily once Romanian proceedings concluded.bbc+1
The UK also has a civil lawsuit pending against Andrew Tate brought by four women alleging sexual violence, with a trial scheduled for June 2026.bbc
Bedfordshire Police, which investigated the UK allegations alongside the CPS, confirmed its involvement in the case.cnn
