Early Release Precedes Full Album

Five tracks from the soundtrack will become available digitally when the movie opens Friday, including "Nebraska," "Atlantic City," "Mansion on the Hill," "I'm on Fire," and "Born in the U.S.A. (Power Station)". The early release strategy allows audiences to experience White's interpretations immediately after seeing the film, which chronicles the creation of Springsteen's seminal 1982 Nebraska album.themusicuniverse+1

Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb, known for his work with Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, and Sturgill Simpson, helmed the soundtrack production. The album captures the raw, intimate essence of Nebraska-era Springsteen while featuring White's committed vocal performances throughout the project.filmmusicreporter+2

Collaborative Performances Round Out Collection

Beyond White's solo performances on the core Nebraska and Born in the U.S.A. tracks, the soundtrack includes collaborative recordings featuring Jay Buchanan of Rival Sons, Jake and Sam Kiszka of Greta Van Fleet, drummer Aksel Coe, and keyboardist Bobby Emmett. These musicians contribute to renditions of "Lucille," "Boom Boom," and "I Put a Spell on You," representing scenes where Springsteen performs with the fictional band Cats on a Smooth Surface at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park.themusicuniverse+2

According to sources close to the production, Springsteen himself provided considerable support for White's vocal interpretations. "One of the most beautiful things he did was really give me permission to bring myself to it," White told CBS News about Springsteen's involvement. The actor underwent six months of intensive vocal training to master Springsteen's distinctive raspy style, with the characteristic grit developing naturally through repeated performance of the songs.consequence+1

The soundtrack arrives as the film receives positive critical reception following premieres at the Telluride and New York Film Festivals, with particular praise for White's committed portrayal of the legendary musician during a pivotal creative period.beyondthecreditsblog.substack+1
