From Intern Challenge to Endurance Marathon

The milestone follows a series of demonstrations that put Figure's capabilities on public display. In May, the company staged a "Man vs. Machine" contest pitting its Figure 03 robot against Aimé Gérard, a visualization specialist intern, in a 10-hour package-sorting challenge at the company's San Jose headquarters. Gérard narrowly won, sorting 12,924 packages at an average of 2.79 seconds each, while the robot managed 12,732 at 2.83 seconds per package — a margin of just 192 parcels.sherwood+2

But the human victory came at a cost. Adcock noted that Gérard ended the shift with a "basically broken" forearm, while the robot showed no signs of fatigue. To underscore the point, Figure then let its robots keep sorting.
