  • El artista británico David Shrigley ha inaugurado una nueva exposición en la Stephen Friedman Gallery de Londres que presenta 10 toneladas de cuerda desechada apiladas en cuatro enormes montículos, con un precio de 1 millón de libras que sirve como interpretación literal del modismo "dinero por cuerda vieja".
  • La instalación, titulada "Exhibition of Old Rope", fue creada durante siete meses recolectando cuerda de puertos marítimos, escuelas de escalada, parques eólicos marinos y costas del Reino Unido, todo lo cual fue limpiado en el estudio de Shrigley antes de ser instalado.
  • Shrigley describe el precio de venta de 1 millón de libras como una provocación y una justificación, argumentando que "por peso, en realidad es una muy buena relación calidad-precio" en comparación con otras obras de arte contemporáneo, aunque admite que le sorprendería si alguien la comprara.
